Elusive Beauty


Chasing Aphrodite documents the story of looted ancient artifacts that found their way to the Getty and the tenure of curator Marion True at the museum. Among other pieces, a million dollar, vine-like, delicate golden funerary wreath, and a $20 Million, 1,300 Ib statue of a woman in a flowing gown carved in limestone were returned to their source countries voluntarily by the Getty.
